Cupcakes Take The Cake

This past Saturday was this year’s Central Park Cupcake Picnic which is becoming an annual event put on by the Cupcakes Take The Cake bloggers. Last year we made Subway-themed cupcakes for the picnic, so this year we decided to make a batch of cupcakes with their name on them (literally). We think the cupcakes came out great, and we hear they went over really well with the picnickers.

We hope everyone at the picnic liked the cupcakes! Before the torrential downpour, anyway. Now we just have to start planning something even more awesome for next year.

Oh, and remember, Cupcakefest is only a couple days away now!

NYC Subway Cupcakes

NYC Subway Cupcakes

Our favorite cupcake blog, Cupcakes Take The Cake, announced that they were having a Cupcake Meetup in Central Park. I spent some time trying to think of something unique I could create for the meetup. I decided to make NYC subway cupcakes, because I thought New Yorkers would get a kick out of seeing something so common to their everyday commute emblazoned on a sweetly frosted baker’s dozen. For those of you who are not New Yorkers, the red, blue, green and yellow lines are four of the largest subway lines serving Manhattan and the other boroughs. These symbols can be seen on almost every street corner in Manhattan, but I’d never seen them on a cupcake. I knew I had to change that.

I hope everyone who attended the meetup enjoyed the cupcakes!

PS- These cupcakes were vegan and delicious!
